Country House Studies: Dissertation
To enable students to make an original and valuable contribution to knowledge and understanding of an aspect of the subject with which the module is concerned, and in doing so to acquire the requisite skills of locating and interpreting relevant primary and secondary source material, collating and analysing evidence and presenting research findings in a lucid and coherent form.
Subject of dissertation to be agreed with Director of Studies.
Form of teaching
Individual tuition, symposium presentation and discussion.
Form of assessment
10,000 - 15,000 word dissertation to be submitted by 1 September. (Dissertations should be 15,000 words maximum, including all bibliographies, footnotes and appendices)
