Dave Ireland
The influence of incongruence on perceived emotional meaning within the film soundtrack
Dave Ireland is currently undertaking a PhD at the School of Music, having previously completed an MMus in Musicology and a BA in Music within the department. His doctoral resarch addresses aspects of emotional music psychology and film soundtracks, particularly seeking to theorise various types of incongruent music within the soundtrack and their influence on perceived meaning and emotional response. Aside from his research, Dave provides teaching support in areas of music history and film music. He is also an active freelance performer and piano accompanist within the Leeds/Bradford area.
