Funded Research Projects
The School balances musical studies of performance, composition & critical & historical studies, with developing areas such as popular music, world musics & music technology.
Resarchers in the School of Music bid to a range of grant-giving bodies: in 2001-07, the School generated research income of over £800,000 from sources including MIST (Mineral Industry Sustainable Technology programme), EU bodies, the AHRC/AHRB, British Academy, British Council, Music & Letters Trust, British Library, and Japan Foundation. The School’s record for bringing research projects to a successful completion is 100%.
