School of Music
Undergraduate Open Days
The School balances musical studies of performance, composition & critical & historical studies, with developing areas such as popular music, world musics & music technology.
The School of Music at Leeds offers a number of pre- and post-application Open Days throughout the year. Pre-applicant Open Days provide an opportunity for you to visit the University during the year before applying, to find out more about academic and social life at the University. This is your chance to visit the School of Music and to get a real feel for what it might be like to study one of our courses here at Leeds.
The next pre-applicant open days are on 22 and 23 June and on 13 October. You can chat with staff and students, attend subject talks and taster lectures, visit our accommodation and explore the campus. Our Open Day website contains all you need to know about the day including how to book your place, planning your day, travelling information and staying in Leeds. Find out more and book your place. If you would like to visit us at any other time, prior to or after submitting an application please contact the undergraduate admissions team.
If you need to speak with someone right now, why not try our online chat service (icon, right) - if it's in normal working hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm GMT) someone will be available to answer your questions.
Why not view the PowerPoint presentation from the last Open Day at the School.
You will automatically receive an invitation to an Open Day when you are made an offer by the School of Music. You will be asked to return an Open Day booking form to let us know whether or not you will be attending. You may bring friends and family with you and we ask that you indicate on the booking form how many guests (maximum of two) will be attending with you. Those who are applying for the BMus (Abroad) Course will also be invited to audition during the morning of the Open Days. You will be asked to contact the School by telephone to arrange a convenient time for your audition.
The structure of the day is usually as follows:
