We use a range of techniques to investigate how humans use vision to support skilled interactions with the world, principally involving steering through simulated visual environments whilst simultaneously tracking eye and head movements.

Lab facilities include:

ASL504 remote optics infra-red eye-tracker
Ascension 'flock of birds' 3D position tracker, with mid-range transmitter (for tracking head movements / rotations)
High-spec graphics workstation and a bank of Visual C++ libraries for generating a variety of virtual environments
Wide field-of-view projection screen (90 x 71 degrees) for simulating full field self motion scenes
Logitech force-feedback steering wheel
