stage@leeds and PCI technical team win Vice-Chancellor's Health and Safety inaugural Team Award
PCI are delighted to announce that the stage@leeds and PCI technical team have just won the Vice-Chancellor's Health and Safety inaugural Team Award! The Vice-Chancellor's health and safety award rewards Colleagues from across the University for their commitment and contribution to improving health and safety . There were 11 very strong nominations, so it was a tough competition. Congratulations to all of the winning team! The engraved shield will be on display shortly!

PCI Scriptwriters in Bollywood and beyond
 
Scriptwriting graduates from PCI continue to go from strength to strength.  Among the latest successes is Zara Chowdhary (MA Writing for Performance & Publication 2009), who has just been appointed as in-house screenwriter for Vinod Chopra Films, one of the leading production houses in Mumbai. Read More

Othello's Revenge
PCI on the International Stage
Othello’s Revenge was an EKT (Enterprise & Knowledge Transfer) project directed by Dr George Rodosthenous and presented in Munich and Münster in April 2011. This was the second commissioned performance by the Cyprus Embassy in Berlin (Georgea Solomontos). in Berlin following the success of The fall of Icarus in 2009.

The work of PCI writers featured prominently in As in Waking Dream (A Woman's Life and Love), a programme of new song cycles presented at the Howard Assembly Room, Opera North on May 23. MA Writing for Performance and Publication student Andrew Knight wrote the words for 'The Unpronounceable...

New Play Clicks up more awards
Writing graduate Jan Perry continues to notch up plaudits with her new play Click.  After scooping the prestigious Windsor Fringe Marriott Award, Click has gone on to to win four 'Yorkshire Oscars' at the Nidderdale Theatre Festival, including Best Play and the Artistic Originality and Audience Prizes.

Elephant in the Room, a new play by PCI Writing graduate Joanne Hartley, is to be staged at the Roundhouse, Camden as part of the Accidental Festival in late May. Joanne, who graduated in 2010 from the School's MA in Writing for Performance & Publication, has developed the play with her own company, Northern Creative Theatre.

An exciting new play by PCI alumnus Aisha Khan (MA Writing for Performance & Publication 2008) is about to receive its premiere at West Yorkshire Playhouse. No Man's Land is an Anglo-German co-production between the Playhouse and Theater an der Parkaue, Berlin.
