OVER 150 tonnes of waste paper was collected around the campus in the first year of the cleaning services recycling scheme.
800 green drums, 70 collection bins and three secure skips have been placed around the campus in a partnership between Cleaning Services and contractor M&B Waste Management.
The scheme was introduced for both environmental and financial reasons. Last year refuse collection cost the University £78,000.
Staff are asked to put all good quality white, coloured, fax and computer paper as well as envelopes, brown paper, magazines and even tissue paper into the green drums.
