World Wide Universities Network: Background Briefing

Introduction

The World Wide Universities Network (WWUN) is a collaborative initiative of the Vice-Chancellors of the universities of Leeds, Sheffield, Southampton and York. It builds on the valuable experience of regional inter-university collaboration gained through the White Rose consortium and on the diverse international experience and expertise across the four core UK partners. The network’s focus is the development of innovative joint teaching and research projects and programmes at an international level.

Prospective Areas for Collaboration

A number of subject areas have been provisionally identified as areas of strength within the core consortium which offer good potential for academic collaboration and partnership with external organisations and sponsors. These are:
