The elegibility criteria for schools are as follows:

	Schools will be bidding for specialist school status in mathematics related disciplines (such as engineering, science, technology and mathematics and computing)
	Schools will be located in West Yorkshire
	Schools must demonstrate an intention to increase educational opportunities for those in under-represented ethnic, cultural and religious minority groups in the community
	Schools will typically i. Have a high proportion of minority ethnic students ii. Be multi-faith iii.Be located within an urban area iv. Demonstrate high levels of take-up of free school meals (or demonstrate other indices of disadvantage) v. Have support from their local education authority
	Schools should demonstrate a commitment to the school improvement agenda
	Schools should confirm that there is no negative publicity anticipated during the period of the scheme which might bring NM Rothschild, the University of Leeds or the Specialist Schools Trust into disrepute
