Introduction
Firstly, this section intends to provide a general overview of the resources that will be made available to you either before or shortly after you register as a research student at the University. As a new research student here, you will be presented with a range of information in handbooks and guides, and in initial training and supervision sessions, that will help you to become familiar with your work environment and to start your research degree programme.

Secondly, this section aims to provide a brief introduction to the University’s arrangements relating to the progress and monitoring of research degree candidatures. The University places great importance on helping you to complete your research degree programme within the standard period of study permitted for the programme upon which you are registered.
