Getting your thesis bound
The University’s Print & Copy Bureau opens in a new window can produce temporary bound theses, which meet the University’s thesis format regulations and is also able to facilitate the production of hard bound theses. Two other Leeds-based firms that will undertake the binding (both temporary and hard binding) according to the University’s regulations are also listed in the Format Regulations.

Deadline for submission for examination
You must submit your thesis for examination on or before the maximum time limit for the research degree programme upon which you are registered. However, all candidates should aim to submit their thesis within the standard period of study prescribed for the programme.
Where your maximum time limit for submission falls on a day when the University is closed as a consequence of a holiday period (for instance a Public Bank Holiday), the deadline for submission to Research Student Administration will be no later than the end of the next working day. The concessions agreed by the Graduate Board to cover University closed days during 2011/12 can be found in the Bank Holiday Deadlines 2011-12 opens in a new window
This does not apply where your maximum time limit falls on a Saturday or Sunday. If the maximum time limit for submission of your thesis falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you will be required to submit your thesis to Research Student Administration on or before the last available working day before your maximum time limit.
Process for submission
Submission can be made in person at the Student Services Centre Counter in the Ziff Building. A Thesis Submission Receipt will be provided at the counter at the time of submission, but you can download this and fill it out in advance. You will need to submit one copy of the thesis for each examiner. This means that at least two copies of the thesis must be submitted but additional copies of bound theses will be required if there are more than two examiners.
If you are not in Leeds you can submit your thesis to the University by post (please ensure that your thesis is posted in sufficient time to ensure it is delivered to RSA on or before the maximum time limit) or can arrange for a friend to bring it to the SSC counter on your behalf. A Thesis Submission Receiptshould be downloaded, the Statement of Academic Integrity section signed and the form sent/posted in with your thesis.
