  • Suzanne Lacasse, born 22 September 1948, has been Managing Director of NGI since 1991. BA, University of Montréal (Canada), 1967; BSc, Ecole Polytechnique, Montréal, 1971; MSc, MIT, 1973; PhD in Civil Engineering, Ecole Polytechnique, Montréal, 1976.
  • 1973-1975 Lecturer at Ecole Polytechnique, Montréal; 1975-1981 Lecturer at MIT, 1978-1991 post-doctoral fellow then researcher at NGI.
  • Dr. Lacasse's expertise is in risk assessment, in situ and laboratory testing, foundations, and slopes. She is author or co-author of some 120 publications and was elected to the National Academy of Engineers, USA in 2001, to the Norwegian Academy of Engineering and Sciences in 1996 and was the 37th Terzaghi Lecturer of the American Society of Civil Engineers, USA in 2001.
