Tammie Ash

I came to Leeds through Reach for Excellence, which is a scheme that supports year 12 and 13 students who might not have considered going to university. I attended a summer school here as part of the scheme, which reinforced my decision to come to Leeds.

I received financial help through Leeds Financial Support and a scholarship which has allowed me to fund field trips, work placements and manage living costs during my studies. I now work as an Access to Leeds ambassador to promote Leeds’ widening access scheme, as well as working on the Reach for Excellence summer school. Both roles give me the chance to inspire sixth form students to think about going to university.
