I always wanted to visit England and be able to study there, and when I came across Leeds International Summer School (LISS), I knew I had found a great opportunity. Coming to Leeds was an excellent choice because I not only got to practise my language skills but I also had the chance to study subjects related to my major.

I studied The English Country House and British Literature and the Brontës modules. The English Country House was a very exciting module because I was able to see with my own eyes the iconic and mesmerizing houses that are part of England’s culture. The British Literature and the Brontës module was very interesting and gave me the chance to visit the Brontë Parsonage Museum and witness the landscape that inspired Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights.

I loved the social events and the excursions of the programme. I got to see great places and had opportunities to meet new friends in each occasion. My favourite excursion was Whitby, a perfect place to eat fish and chips with an amazing view of the sea.

Leeds is such a student-friendly place, you have everything at reach and you feel very welcomed here. In my free time, I would go shopping and to the Library Pub where I’d play pool for hours with my friends.

LISS was a life-changing decision, it helped me develop skills I could not develop in other environment and help me be more independent. Here, I met amazing people and friends for life. To anyone who wishes to experience an amazing adventure, I highly recommend choosing Leeds as a first option, you will not regret it. I’m sure that I will come back someday.
