Aim of the course
By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:
- discuss the necessity of a priori sample size calculations
- perform sample size calculations for simple situations
- interpret risk and odds ratios
- explain the features of survival data
- implement Kaplan-Meier and Log Rank analysis
- summarise types of prevention
- evaluate some screening statistics
- appraise some examples from the published literature
