Aim of the School
By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:
- identify some basic study designs
- classify different types of variable
- determine appropriate summary measures, including graphical display
- evaluate confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
- discuss correlation
- explain techniques for assessing agreement
- perform sample size calculations for simple situations
- interpret risk and odds ratios
- implement Kaplan-Meier and Log Rank analysis for survival data
- evaluate some screening statistics
- implement analysis in a suitable computer package
- appraise some examples from published literature
