Course at a glance
We start by providing a definition of some of the jargon around sample size calculations. The simple case of comparing two groups, covering methods for evaluating the number required to compare two means or proportions, is then covered An overview of the technique of simulation is then given and compared to the ‘simple’ approach. The flexibility of these simulations is then demonstrated, illustrating how they can be used in more complex situations. The day concludes with a discussion of contexts proposed by the delegates.
