Replacement Student ID Card

If your University Student ID card is lost, damaged or stolen you can go to the Counter on level 9 in the Student Services Centre for a replacement.

Charges

For all missing cards, there is a charge of £10.00 (non-refundable). As there have been a significant number of fraudulent theft claims, unfortunately this payment applies irrespective of the reason for the loss. You will be asked to provide a valid form of photographic identification ( driving licence or passport) when you come to obtain the card.

Before paying for a replacement

Cards that are found are sent to the Student Services counter and those students are emailed to inform them that their card has been found and can be collected. Emails are always sent when an active card has been received, though it is advisable to ask a member of staff if your card has been handed in before paying for a replacement.

Elapsed end dates

For students whose completion date has been changed (e.g. students who have intercalated, taken a year abroad/in industry , etc..), a card with the new date will be provided free of charge. Please bring your old card to the counter once your parent school has confirmed your dates have been changed on the system. If you have lost your old card you will still need to pay for a replacement for the security of your account and you will be issued with a new library number making your lost card obsolete.

Paying for a replacement

If you do not wish to wait for your old card to be found, you can pay for a new card at any time. Card payments can be made at the counter itself in the Student Services Centre, though please check that you need to pay for a replacement before doing so.

Cash, card and cheque payments can be made at Cash Services, located alongside the main Student Services Counter, and take the receipt to the main counter as proof of payment.

Please note that your student card remains property of the University at all times and you are responsible for the condition and retention of that card unless relinquished to a member of staff.
