Administration charges

Student moneyWe currently do not charge extra for a student to have an instalment plan.

University of Leeds send e-bills for your accommodation and tuition. Our system makes a note of bills sent to you in this manner and not reading these bills or not forwarding them to the payer is not an excuse for non-payment. Students who cancel their direct debit without notifying Accounts Receivable may have their instalment plan altered.
For more information see: Instalment Plan FAQ

If an instalment is not paid on the due date a late payment administration charge of £20 will be added on the account at the beginning of the following month. A further £20 for each month will be added until the balance is up to date.

Examination Re-sits
If you are taking re-sits payment must be made immediately on receipt of the email/statement from Student Payments. A reminder to pay will be emailed to you at the start of the following month which will also advise that if payment is not received by the end of that month, you will be charged £20 for Late Payment Administration. This amount will be charged at the start of each month until full payment is received. All students are expected to use their University of Leeds email address, not checking this email address is not an excuse for non-payment. This is the case for both registered and external students. Accounts Receivable does not apply Examination charges and therefore we are unable to amend them. For more information about what you have been charged please contact your School of Learning. See: Examinations

These late payment administration charges are due to be paid by the student even if payments are usually made by a third party and the third party has not been informed of the additional charges.

Late payment administration charges cannot be waived. However, if you have successfully applied for a Student Finance tuition fee loan and you have incurred late payment administration charges due to outstanding tuition fees these late payment administration charges for tuition fees can be removed.

If you have an outstanding charge on your account you will not be able to re-register for a new academic session or graduate from your programme until your debt is cleared.
