How do I pay my accommodation deposit?
You can pay your accommodation deposit online by clicking here If you are unable to pay online, you can also pay by cheque (drawn on a UK bank account) made payable to University of Leeds. Please make sure you quote your student id on the reverse

I am leaving accommodation, how do I get back my deposit?

Is there a discount for paying in full?
No, however there is no charge for paying in instalments

The University has taken the wrong amount out of my bank - what do I do?

Tuition fees questions

How & when do I pay my tuition fees? (LEA/DfES students)
Payment in full on or before registration by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Alternatively you can pay in 2 instalments in November & February by direct debit or credit/debit card.
An instalment plan must be completed at online registration.
Immediate credit/debit card payments and completion of instalment form can be made at:
www.leeds.ac.uk/ssc/fees.htm

How & when do I pay my tuition fees? (Non-LEA/DfES /International students)
Payment in full before or at registration by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer.
In 2 instalments: 50% before or at registration by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer and 50% in February by direct debit only. Immediate credit/debit card payments can be made at www.leeds.ac.uk/ssc/fees.htm

Is there a discount for paying in full?
No, however there is no charge for paying in instalments.

Is there a charge for paying by credit card?
No - we accept Visa, MasterCard & Maestro.

Who do I make cheques payable to?
University of Leeds, please quote student name & number on reverse.

I can't afford to pay at registration - what do I do?
You will be given deferred registration that in most cases is valid for one month.
You could contact Student Advice Centre on 0113 380 1300 if you are having financial difficulties.

Can I change my bank account details?
Contact Accounts Receivable at least 2 weeks prior to the instalment date.

I can't pay my next instalment - what happens?
If an instalment is not paid on the due date an immediate administration charge of £20 will be incurred to the account followed by a further £20 for each month payment remains outstanding.

I have paid my fees but have now received assessment stating that SLC will pay - can I have a refund?
Yes - contact Accounts Receivable

I will be abroad/on a placement next year, will I have to pay fees?
UK/EU Students working  or studying abroad will pay £860 in 2009/10

International students working abroad will pay £860 and studying abroad will pay 25% of the 2009/10 tuition fee.

I will be an Erasmus/Worldwide Exchange student next year, will I have to pay fees?

I need to renew my visa & need proof of payment of fees - where can I get it?
A statement of account can be printed by the student via the online payment facility. Alternatively contact Accounts Receivable.

Can you send mail to parents instead of student?
In compliance with data protection we send all information & mail to the student. The student will have to forward mail to their parents.

I am leaving University - Will I have to pay tuition fees?
You will need to complete a leaver's form with your department.

NON TUITION FEE LOAN STUDENTS - If you withdraw from your course and pay your own fees you will be charged fees on a pro-rata basis according to the number of weeks you have studied.
If you leave after your fees have been paid the university will refund you on a pro-rata basis.

TUITION FEE LOAN STUDENTS - If your fees are to be paid by a tuition fee loan from the Student Loan Company this will be paid upon confirmation that the student is still in attendance on 1st December. HOWEVER , if you withdraw (temporarily/permanently) from your course before 1st December the Student Loan Company will not pay your fees and you will be liable for fees due. You will not be able to receive a loan for them.

If you leave after the 1 December the Student Loan Company will still pay your fees but they will pay a pro rata amount for the number of weeks you have studied. The University notifies the Student Loan Company of the fees due and your loan is reduced accordingly.

I have tried to register but I have a debt I cannot pay - what do I do?

What information should my sponsor letter contain?
Official letter headed paper

Duration and course of study
Duration and amount of Sponsorship
Name and address of where to send invoice

Can my sponsor pay my fees in instalments?
No, Sponsors are required to make full payment upon receipt of invoice

How does my sponsor know how to pay my fees?
Once you have successfully completed your registration an invoice will be sent to your sponsor. Payment is required 30 days from the date of the invoice.

What payment method can my sponsor use?
Cheque - please quote invoice number & student name on reverse

My sponsor has not sent my sponsor letter yet and I cannot pay my fees - What do I do?
You will be given deferred registration that is valid for one month

How does my sponsor get a copy of the invoice for my fees?

What happens if my sponsors are unable to pay my fees?
The University makes every effort to obtain payment from your sponsor, however if following our letters your fees remain unpaid then as per University policy the tuition fees will be transferred to your account and will then become your responsibility to pay.
