Course Structure
The MSc in Advanced Textiles and Performance Clothing is a flexible course designed to allow you to specialize in one of six areas:
The taught modules are delivered over two semesters with a dissertation project undertaken throughout the full year. Each semester comprises core and optional modules taught through formal lectures, directed reading, private study, seminars, tutorials, assignments and, where appropriate, workshops. The period from the end of the second semester, to the end of the academic year is scheduled for the completion of the dissertation project.

Core Modules
Professional Development and Research Methodology is aimed at equipping you with the skills necessary to plan, execute, and write up in a professional manner, an investigation of a chosen topic relating to any of the areas of study.
The dissertation project is an integral element of the course to which much importance is attached. You will be required to carry out a line investigation that has novelty and contributes towards established knowledge.
It is expected that dissertation projects will form the basis for publications in learned journals or articles for other routes of dissemination.
A dissertation topic is chosen in semester one and you are assigned to an appropriate supervisor. The work, including writing up, must be completed and submitted by 30th September.
