Frequently asked questions

I don't understand my timetable, where can I get more information?
For information on interpreting the timetable please see the online timetable key.

When will my module choices appear on my timetable?
If you enrolled online before 10pm then any compulsory sessions* for the module will appear on your timetable the following morning, you will be assigned to group sessions* from mid-July onwards. Before July your timetable will not show any group sessions (with a few exceptions), this may mean that modules that do not have any compulsory sessions may not show on your timetable.
If you have completed a paper Change of Module Enrolment form then the module will appear on your timetable the day after it has been added to your student record, you can check this information from the View Enrolled Modules page in Student Services.
If a module was applied to your record more than three days ago (please check the date on the View Enrolled Modules page) and it is still not appearing on your timetable please contact the appropriate timetabling contact for more information.

I have a clash, what should I do?
Please email the details of the clashing sessions, including your 9 digit student ID, to the appropriate timetabling contact for your parent school.

I have a query about the modules I have chosen, who should I contact?
Please contact your parent school.

I have a query about the timetable for a module I have chosen, who should I contact?
Please email the appropriate timetabling contact for the teaching school offering the module.

I’m a medical student, why is there nothing on my timetable?
Currently the School of Medicine does not offer online personal timetables. For timetable information please contact the School of Medicine.

Why do I get an error message when I try to access my timetable?
If you are a postgraduate student taking taught modules then you will need to complete one or more steps of the registration process or enrol on a module before your timetable can be created. If you do this before 10pm your timetable will be created overnight and you should have a timetable by the next morning.

If you are an undergraduate student awaiting year abroad assessment then you may not currently be eligible to register for the next academic year, if this is the case then you will not have a timetable until your assessment is complete and your record has been updated. If you need timetable information for module enrolment then you can access a Programme timetable containing only compulsory sessions* from the Undergraduate Programme Catalogue which can be used with individual module timetables to check for clashes.

If you have enrolled on a module or started registration more than three days ago or are an undergraduate student not awaiting year abroad assessment (this may take a while to be applied to your student record after you have been informed) please contact the Timetabling and Room Bookings team including your full name and 9 digit student ID.

*Compulsory sessions are taught sessions that are not repeated and therefore do not have any alternative times, e.g. most lectures.

*Group sessions are taught sessions that are repeated and students are split into groups to attend one of a number of alternative times, e.g. tutorials or practicals.
