Velocampus Leeds provides cycle support for staff and students at the universities and teaching hospitals in Leeds. This includes supported, low cost short & long term bike hire, bike maintenance facilities, advice and classes, cycle training, bike buddying, safety and route advice/information.
The Velocampus Leeds bike hub on UoL campus is ideally situated for access by staff and students at both universities and the teaching hospitals. It provides a base and facilities for bike hire issue/servicing, and
other UTravelActive events & activities. It is open regularly for drop-in self-help maintenance sessions,
providing facilities and support for both staff and students to maintain their own bikes.
Velocampus first started in Nantes, France in 1997, where students provided low cost hire bikes and
maintenance facilities for their fellow students. We thank them for sharing their experience with us.
Velocampus Leeds is part of UTravelActive, which aims to promote cycling and walking, part funded by the Big Lottery and delivered by the Leeds universities in partnership with Sustrans, Leeds City Council, Leeds
Teaching Hospitals and NHS Leeds.
