Information for Hirers
Looking after your hire bike
All Velocampus bikes are fully serviced by professional bike mechanics before being released for hire.
It is your responsibility to keep yourself and your bike safe and in good working order. Maintenance & cycle skills support and other information is available from the team in the Velocampus bike hub. In your information pack is Highway Code information, contact details, additional guidelines and a cycle map.
Returning your Bike
We are sure you will enjoy using a bike from Velocampus Leeds. Bikes either need to be returned by the date stipulated on your hire contract or the hire can be renewed for another semester/year, but returned for servicing. The hire will not extend beyond your student card expiry date. You must be a returning student/ postgraduate, and staying in Leeds, to keep the bike over the summer.
Please return your bike to the Bike Hub. Please bring your student ID with you.
As long as the bike and accessories are returned clean and in good working order, we will be able to return your full deposit to you.
Return of Deposits
Please bring the bike complete with lock, keys, front and rear lights. The bike and accessories need to be clean and in good working order to avoid any deductions being made to your £100 deposit. Please see this checklist that will be used to assess your hire bike. Deposits will be returned to you via a payment form for the amount agreed when you return your hire bike. Payment forms can be cashed at the cash office, located on the ground floor of Ziff Building, University of Leeds. Leeds Met cash office is located in C building 3rd floor.
