Help students help themselves

Students are busy, often 'just in time' workers and may need help with tools like assignment upload areas. Make their life easier by linking to a handy student guide for the tools you deploy in your modules.

For example: you might like to include some instructions in items such as a Turnitin Assignment link. Read on to see how some additional information and links to our Help website could help your students use tools they are unfamiliar with.

Time to achieve: 10 minutes

In the appropriate area in your module (i.e. assignment submission area) make sure Edit Mode is ON.

Select Add Content and then Item

Give the item an appropriate name like: ‘Help with submitting’

In the Text box add some descriptive text and add links to the appropriate guides. So you finish with something like this:
