You Are What You Ate

The osteology workshops will examine skeletal and dental evidence of diseases linked to diet, which were common in the medieval period as well as today. The workshops will include examining human remains from archaeological sites. This winter's workshops will focus on dental diseases, which are caused by starchy and sugary foods, as well as poor oral hygiene.
