We want all our students to get the best out of the whole experience of coming to study at the University of Leeds. We want Leeds students and graduates to be distinctive, to stand out from the competition by being able to demonstrate academic excellence and the skills and attributes that equip them for the challenges of the 21st century. The University of Leeds' Leeds for Life scheme encapsulates that aim.
What is Leeds for Life for?
Leeds for Life will help you make the most of your time here, and help you see what's distinctive about a University of Leeds education, preparing you for a bright future outside the University.
With support from your personal tutor, the Leeds for Life scheme helps you:
- recognise what skills you are getting through your course
- identify what employers are looking for
- describe your skills and attributes more effectively
- find opportunities outside your course, to develop and add to your skills make the most of your personal tutorial sessions
Societies, volunteering, internships, sport, work-experience, project work: these are all opportunities which can provide you with really valuable experience and new or enhanced skills that will benefit you while you are at University and when you move on. Funding is available, through the Leeds for Life Foundation, to help you to undertake your own projects.
