University of Leeds COVID-19 guidance

It’s important that we continue to do all we can to keep each other safe. If you have COVID-19, flu or any other contagious illness, please avoid coming onto our campus.

For staff

If you’re not well enough to work, you should remain at home and report your sickness

If you’re well enough to work but have symptoms of COVID-19 or any other infectious disease (such as flu, sickness or diarrhoea), you shouldn’t come onto campus until you’ve spoken to your line manager. Your line manager will discuss with you whether you should be working and what adjustments might be able to be made for you, which may include working from home.

Please visit our Wellbeing, Health and Safety site for more information about looking after yourself in winter.

For students

You’re advised to follow the latest NHS guidance and report your illness to the University. If you’re too unwell to attend face-to-face teaching sessions, you can stay at home and make up for lost teaching in other ways, as advised by your School

For students and staff

For advice on what to do if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive, take a look at the latest NHS guidance

You don’t have to wear a face covering on campus except for in clinical settings where NHS guidance may still apply. Some people might want to carry on using face coverings so please be considerate of other people’s choices.

You can reduce the risk of catching and passing on COVID-19 by:

  • Getting vaccinated
  • Meeting outdoors or letting fresh air in if meeting indoors
  • Staying at home if you are unwell
  • Washing your hands and following advice to ‘Catch it. Bin it. Kill it’.
