Join us to discover the contested history of cotton from the UK and Indian perspective.

From field to fabric: cotton undergoes many stages of production before it can be transformed into an item of clothing.

We'll explore the global importance of cotton, learn about the history and influence of cotton on fashion, and take an exclusive peek into the rich fashion and textile collections of Leeds Museums and Galleries.

This event is the first in a series of three Be Curious LATES events, which will explore the history, production and consumption of cotton, with the support of UK and Indian contributors from universities, the fashion and textile industry, museum sector and sustainability experts.

Speakers: Dr Bethan Bide (University of Leeds), Siddhant Shah (Access for All), Vanessa Jones (Leeds Museums and Galleries).
