Mikhail Karikis and Joseph Kohlmaier present their current work and practice through seminar, lecture and performance.
As part of the 'Tunings of the World' Sadler Seminar Series, this hybrid event takes place both in-person in our Project Space and online.
The programme begins with The End of the World Service: a seminar with Joseph Kohlmaier (Musarc, London Metropolitan University). Kohlmaier will construct a phenomenology of the sonic threshold by contrasting attunement with evocation: the feedback loop between acts of listening, and the ‘provocation’ of sound in the making of sonic artefacts that constitute the world we listen to.
This will be followed by Acoustics of Resistance, a new work by Mikhail Karikis exploring our connection and fascination with weather phenomena.
