This is a lecture competition in honour of Professor Monty Losowsky, former Dean of Medicine. Hosted in partnership with Thackray Museum of Medicine, three School of Medicine students will compete.
Professor Monty Losowsky played a crucial role in establishing both Europe’s largest teaching hospital and the UK’s leading independent medical museum.
To celebrate this contribution, the University of Leeds’ School of Medicine and the Thackray Museum of Medicine will host an annual prize lecture on Thursday 13 October 5.30–8.30pm at the University of Leeds, Level 7 Worsley Building – Medical Lecture Theatre.
Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam Kt, MBE, FMedSci will deliver the keynote speech ‘Parables of the Pandemic’.
Three students have been shortlisted for a lecture competition.
The judging panel will be chaired by Professor Simon Kay – Medical Director at Thackray Museum of Medicine and will include Dr Neil Kaiper-Holmes – Chairman of Thackray Museum of Medicine, Fay Bound-Alberti – Professor at University of York, Paul Thomas, LeedsSalon and Professor Mark Kearney – Executive Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Health.
