Formed in 2015, Cobalt Brass is a versatile ensemble that prides itself in being different. Made up of a group of friends that met whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, they pride themselves on pushing the limits of the brass quintet medium. Cobalt Brass quickly made a name for themselves by winning both the Philip Jones Brass Prize and Christopher Rowland Chamber Music Competition during their time at the RNCM. Individually the members enjoy varied careers as some of the busiest freelance musicians in the North West and beyond, performing regularly with the UK’s top orchestras and bands.
Cobalt Brass members: Adam Bidgood (trumpet), Joe Martin (trumpet), Kieran Lyster (horn), Jack Rowlands (trombone) and Conall Gormley (tuba).
