A guided walk west along the waterfront to Holbeck, see the location of the first moving image, Italian towers and an Egyptian Temple - and a look to the future of post-Hs2.

This guided walk, which stays close to the river and canal basin and finishes in Holbeck, shows how this area has had a vital role in shaping the city over the last 200 years, and how future developments will radically alter this part of Leeds once again. You will see the location of where Louis Le Prince short the first moving image, visit the cradle of the industrial revolution as championed by Marshall and Smeaton, not to mention an Egyptian Temple and Italian Towers (and the largest bungalow in the world!) You will hear about how the area will change once again, with proposals for new skyscrapers, large scale demolitions to make way for HS2 and hear about the £0.5 billion city station redevelopment. A truly fascinating walk.
