Call for Honorary Degree nominations

Colleagues are invited to submit names for consideration by the Committee on Honorary Degrees for awards in 2020.

Call for Honorary Degree nominations. August 2019

Honorary degrees were awarded to six prominent figures from the worlds of science, the arts and industry during this year’s graduation ceremonies:

  • Peter Dhillon, businessperson and philanthropist
  • Jane Elizabeth Featherstone, television producer
  • Richard Henderson, physicist and Nobel Prize winner
  • Lubaina Himid, artist
  • Sir Michael Pepper, physicist; and
  • Norman Stanley Williams, former President of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Now, suggestions are being sought from colleagues for equally deserving candidates to be honoured in the same way at next year’s graduation ceremonies.
