Professor Hai-Sui Yu leads on the development and delivery of the Universitys international strategy by working with teams across the University and stakeholders to boost the Universitys global profile and standing, and generate research and educational opportunities with overseas partners. Professor Yu also holds the role of Professor of Geotechnical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.
Previously he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) and Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, where he had overall responsibility for the Universitys international and global engagement strategy.
Throughout his academic career, Professor Yu has also worked with leading institutions in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, Austria, and Italy.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2011 for outstanding personal engineering achievement.
