English for Life (online)  Entry requirements and how to apply

Entry requirements

We normally accept an English language level of between Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) B1 and C1 (lower intermediate / independent to lower advanced / proficient).

Check IELTS and CEFR equivalencies.

This course isn't suitable for beginners or if your English language level is higher than CEFR C1. If you need a Student visa to study in the UK, you'll need to supply an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) for UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) certificate.

Placement tests

If you receive an offer to study on this course, we'll then ask you to complete some tests. These tests won't affect your offer, we'll use your test result to place you in a class with other students at a similar language level.
