Johan Faust, part-time tutor
I work as a part-time tutor at the Lifelong Learning Centre. I help students to develop their capability for successful university-level study and contribute to the delivery of the Nature of Science and Scientific Thinking module on the Science Foundation programme.
As a marine geoscientist, my research focuses on deciphering geochemical signatures in sediments. I determine how climate variability affects the environmental condition along the Norwegian coast and in the Arctic Ocean in the past, presence and future. In particular I am investigating how changes in the Arctic Ocean sea ice cover and water mass distribution will affect biogeochemical processes and carbon burial in sediments from the Barents Sea.
