Light Night 2016

Date

Light Night, Leeds’ biggest free annual multi-arts event, takes place later this week.

Visitors will be welcomed to campus on Friday alongside staff and students to enjoy more than a dozen events, ranging from performances and discussions to interactive hands-on activities.

The feast of cultural and artistic activity will showcase some of the amazing work that takes place at the University and forms part of the city-wide Light Night Leeds 2016 events.

Sir Alan Langlands, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds, said: “The University is very proud to be a part of the vibrant cultural community in Leeds. Light Night brings this community together and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the events taking place at the University.”

To find out more, visitors can pick up a leaflet at the Parkinson Building to help them find their way to the different event venues on campus, download a brochure about the events or see http://www.leeds.ac.uk/lightnight for a full list of activities.

2016 marks the 12th anniversary of Light Night in Leeds, which this year will take place over two nights in the city –including Thursday – with more than 50 artworks including spectacular light projections, as well as film, dance, music, theatre, exhibitions and street performances.
