Leeds moves up in Complete University Guide 2018

Date

The University has climbed two places and retains its position in the top 20 in this year’s Complete University Guide.

Offering a comprehensive ranking of over 140 UK universities, the Guide reviews a range of criteria, including student satisfaction, graduate prospects, student-staff ratio, research quality and investment in facilities.

It also offers subject tables to help profile courses, with Leeds featuring in the top ten universities across 22 different subjects.

Sir Alan Langlands, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds said: “League tables only give a brief insight into what universities can offer, but this reflects the commitment and hard work of our staff and students to provide an outstanding student experience.

“We are making unparalleled investments in our campus, which along with everything the city has to offer, plays a vital role in making Leeds an exceptional place to live and learn.”

“Our research-based education and emphasis on extra-curricular activities means we are supporting independent, critical thinkers, who are sought after by employers and who can make a real impact on the world.”

The Complete University Guide 2018 ranks Leeds in 14th position, up from 16th.

It follows Leeds being named University of the Year 2017 by The Times and The Sunday Times’ Good University Guide, as well as another year of high student satisfaction levels, where Leeds secured 90% satisfaction in the recent 2016 National Student Survey (NSS).

Leeds also moved into the top five in this year’s Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey.
