BA Child and Family Studies (part-time)

Do you work or volunteer with children, young people or families and are looking to develop your professional practice through further study? This course supports your current work experience to enable you to become a more informed and reflective practitioner and take the next steps in your career.

Taught one afternoon or evening a week, you can fit your study alongside work and other commitments.

BA Learning and Teaching with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) (part-time)

This course is a specialist five-year degree designed for those who are interested in or are currently supporting learning or teaching in educational settings such as schools and nurseries or the voluntary sector, such as libraries or museums. With a strong focus on SEND, this course is particularly suitable if you are looking to develop your knowledge and understanding of provision for learners with special educational needs and disabilities.

Taught one evening or afternoon a week on campus, you can fit your study alongside other commitments.

BA Professional Studies (part-time or full-time)

Designed with the world of work in mind, this degree focuses on the professional skills relevant to today’s employers. You’ll learn about key contemporary issues, such as globalisation, diversity and technology and you’ll also have the chance to specialise in a particular area of professional development, such as Business Management, Child and Family Studies, Learning and Teaching or Creative Writing.

You can choose to study this course part-time or full-time.

Preparation for Higher Education (PHE)

This course is designed to prepare you for the transition to university-level study. Learning in a supportive environment, you’ll gain the academic knowledge and study skills you need to succeed in your degree. You’ll be introduced to key academic skills, such as how to use the University library to conduct research, how to read academic texts and how to write degree-level assignments, as well as developing your analytical and critical thinking skills.

The course runs on two evenings a week with some Saturday teaching, so you can study whilst balancing your other commitments.
