Obituary: Eberhard Buhl
University staff will be saddened to hear of the death of Professor Eberhard Buhl on Saturday 18 January. Professor Buhl came to Leeds to take up a chair in neurobiology in 1999, and rapidly established one of the worlds leading neuronal network research groups. He was appointed head of biomedical sciences last year.
Colleague Dr Miles Whittington said: Eberhard was a young man, but at 43 he had achieved more than many. His life has been cut so tragically short. His death is an immense loss to the University, his friends and colleagues throughout the world and his family. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Dora Lozsadi.
The funeral on January 28 will be a small, quiet service for close friends and family only. A memorial service to allow others to pay their respects will be held at the University at a later date. Details of the time and venue, and a full obituary, will be posted on campusweb.
