David G Squires

We are very sorry to have to report the death on 30 November 2005 of Mr David Squires, Technician in the School of Medicine, Medical Education Unit.

David joined the University in November 2003, following his retirement from a long career in the chemical industry during which he held a variety of senior technical and managerial positions. In what was sadly to prove an all too brief association with the Medical School, he rapidly established himself as a very capable, competent and personable colleague, whose experience and approach were considerable assets to the smooth operation of the Clinical Skills Learning Centres at the General Infirmary at Leeds and St Jamess University Hospital. His colleagues will remember David in particular for his kindness and good humour, which underpinned an endless patience with students and staff.

The funeral will be on Friday, 9 December, when the flag on the Parkinson Building will be at half-mast.
