Michael Cunningham

We are very sorry to have to report that Mr Michael Cunningham, Handyperson in the Faculty of Engineering, died on 18 August 2006, after a short illness.

Michael joined the University in 2005, having worked for lengthy periods in the building industry and with Carlsberg in Leeds. Responsible for a variety of housekeeping functions within the Faculty, including collections, deliveries, looking after research and teaching laboratories and the preparation of rooms for meetings, Michael had become in a very short space of time a trusted and very popular colleague. Unfailingly capable, obliging and good-natured, he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues here.

In his spare time, Michael was an extremely enthusiastic golfer.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, their children, Helen and Christopher, and three grandchildren.
