Donald Pedley

We are very sorry to report the death, suddenly on 23 August 2006, of Mr Donald Pedley, formerly a senior member of the technical staff in the Department of Pure and Applied Zoology. Born in 1927, Donald Pedley served for several years in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps before going on to run his own landscaping and market gardening business. He was appointed as a technician in the School of Medicine in 1974, transferring to a more senior post in Pure and Applied Zoology in 1978. Here, his knowledge and skills were invaluable in supporting the Department's parasitological research in particular. Outside the University, Donald was a very highly regarded volunteer with the Bradford Samaritans. He retired from the University in 1992.
