Obituary: Linda Blackburn

It is with considerable sadness that we have to report that, following a period of illness, Mrs Linda Blackburn, a member of staff in Estates (Cleaning Services), died on 10 February 2008.

Linda joined the University in June 2005. She had responsibilities within the School of Design and also provided support for a number of high-profile events such as degree ceremonies. A very congenial and conscientious colleague, Linda was deservedly popular with those with whom she worked. She will be much missed and fondly remembered.

The funeral service will take place at 11.40 am on Thursday 21 February 2008 at Cottingley Hall Crematorium, Elland Road, Leeds LS11 0EU. There are to be family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be made to Cancer Research UK and a collection box will be available at the service.

Linda is survived by husband, Trevor, son, Anthony, and grandson, Caelum.

The flag will be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building on Thursday in Linda's memory.
