Obituary: Stanley Sanders

We are very sorry to have to let colleagues know that Mr Stanley Sanders, former Administrative Assistant, died on 29 July 2008.

Mr Sanders joined the Administrative Services Branch of the Bursars Office in March 1966, having previously held appointments in finance with organisations including the National Coal Board and the Treasurers Department of Warrington Corporation. At Leeds, Mr Sanders took responsibility for areas including insurance and the Universitys telephone system. By dint of his considerable technical specialist knowledge and his meticulous and helpful temperament, he was a sure guide and support to departments and services throughout the institution. Unfortunately, Ill-health compelled Mr Sanders to take early retirement in 1981. Mr Sanders is survived by his wife, Mildred, son Jeffrey, and daughter, Carol.

The funeral has taken place.
