Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death of Dorine Blair, former Finance Manager at Unipol Student Homes.
Dorine Blair, known to all as Dee, died suddenly and unexpectedly on her way home from work on the 16th October 2018. Dee managed the Unipol finance team and was dependable, exceptionally hardworking and always joy to work with. Dee brought calm, reassuring professionalism to her work and was a good friend to the many staff who benefitted from her caring approach and support. Her particular calmness and positivity enthused her team and she is sadly missed.
After studying at West Park Girls High School she went on to study accountancy at both Park Lane College and Thomas Danby College and then worked for a variety of Government agencies that supported sports coaching for young athletes, now part of Sport England. She joined Unipol in August 2011 as a Senior Finance Officer and was quickly promoted to Finance Manager in April 2013.
Dee kept her work and social lives separate but, in her personal life she was a keen dancer and was always first on the dance floor and last off. She had two sons, one has recently graduated, the other is moving along the precipitous route to being a professional footballer: Dee was inordinately proud of them both and of their achievements. In her spare time she found time to write a novel.
Always well, even glamorously, dressed, with a wonderful smile, she will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew her. Our sympathies and support go to her partner Brian, her sons Asher and Amarri, her sisters and brother and her whole extended family.
The funeral service will take place on 16 November 2018 at The New Testament Church of God, 3 Easterly Road, Leeds LS8 2TN at 10.45am followed by burial from 1.00pm at Harehills Cemetery.
