I think the University provides excellent support and facilities for students. The academic staff in the University have their open door hours, where you can talk to them face-to-face if you are struggling to understand certain topics. Moreover, each School has their own course and school representatives. As one of the course representatives, I can tell you that the departments and the representatives frequently consult students regarding the course and the school itself to find ways to improve the quality of the courses.

The University has an on-campus Careers Centre where you can get advice regarding careers, which includes guidance regarding work placements and writing a CV. Moreover, the Language Centre offers English language courses for international students before and during their studies.

I am in the Cheerleading and Enactus Society this year. I would recommend that students join at least one society because it helps not only to express your passion or discover new hobbies, but also to become more familiar with British culture.

The nightlife in Leeds is amazing. The Leeds University Union has two pubs, the Old Bar and the Terrace, where you can socialize and meet new people from the University. Moreover, Leeds has a lot of amazing clubs, such as Warehouse and Canal Mills. So you can find something that suits your personality.

I lived in Central Village during my International Foundation Year and I am currently in another halls of residence on campus. A few advantages of living in Central Village are that it is five minutes away from University and Morrisons, a large supermarket. An express grocery shop is just under the residence building. In my current residence, the security is 24 hours, you are a minute away from the Union and I believe that it is the best residence to socialise.
