Training & Support

Introductory Training

The current Minerva training includes three staged introductory sessions, and one on Grade Centre use:

  • Minerva 1: Getting Started – an introductory overview
  • Minerva 2: Managing Content - module design and working with content
  • Minerva 3: Getting Interactive – tools for communication, collaboration and assessment
  • Using the Grade Centre

Colleagues who are new to Minerva or who feel they need more support in taking on the changes are encouraged to attend these events.

Other Minerva courses and workshops

Organisational Development and Professional Learning (OD&PL) also run a variety of courses, dissemination events and online provision that look in detail at different uses of Minerva and other technologies for student education. They also run bespoke courses on request for Schools and Faculties. For a full list their provision including training on use of Minerva visit the OD&PL course listings page.

One-to-one staff help from the eLearning (VLES) team

The eLearning (VLES) team can also offer one-to-one deskside consultations, or group sessions to meet your specific needs.

These sessions are informal with no presentation. Staff can come along for:

  • one-to-one help with building their module or organisation
  • advice on a specific problem
  • information about Minerva processes

If you think your Department or Faculty could benefit from a drop in session, contact us using the details from the Further help tab (please specify that you would like to organise a drop in session with the eLearning (VLES) team).

The staff guides section is available to supplement the face-to-face training and provides step by step instructions on using many of the tools on offer.

Training may be available in your faculty/school, for further information please contact the appropriate administrative office or the eLearning (VLES) team using the contact details from the Further help tab.

The student guides section will help you find your way in Minerva.
