Obituary: John Outram
Colleagues will be very sorry to hear of the death, on 13 February 2003, of Mr John Outram, Project Manager in Estate Services. The flag is flying at half-mast today (20 February) as a mark of respect.
A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, John was employed in the private sector before joining Bretton Hall College as Estates Manager in March 1995. He brought a wealth of valuable experience and expertise to this appointment, also serving as a member of the Directorate Board of the College. With the merger between the College and the University in 2001, John became Project Manager in Estate Services. He continued to be based on the Bretton Hall Campus and had a particular responsibility for the co-ordination of work on the new theatre complex currently under construction on the campus. John will be fondly remembered as a very congenial and thoroughly professional colleague.
The funeral will take place at 11 am on Thursday, 20 February 2003, at St Swithins Church, Main Road, Holmesfield, Nr Dronfield, Sheffield. The Dronfield with Holmesfield Parish web-site (www.dwhparish.org.uk) includes a map showing the location of the church. The family have requested only family flowers at the funeral. Donations in Johns memory may be made to Cancer Research.
John is survived by his wife, Lyn, daughters Jane and Vicky, and son Paul.
The Parkinson Building flag will be flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral.
